JOB TITLE: Acquisitions Contracts SME- VA

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

As the Adviser to government administrators managing acquisitions, the Acquisitions Contracts SME will support the Veterans Administration throughout the contractís cycle.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:†

  • Support federal customers with analyzing current acquisition processes, recommending opportunities for streamlining and enhancing acquisition processes, and developing and implementing solutions to meet customer requirements
  • Conduct analysis on client problems independently, research and recommend solutions, and execute resolution steps to address client issues
  • Provide functional support for testing such as developing test scenarios and documentation and performing validation testing for the core Momentum application and reports
  • Provide functional support for new initiative implementation activities, such as requirements analysis, development of design, and configuration documentation
  • Provide support for federal government mandated initiatives

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Security Clearance: Secret

  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
  • Bachelorís Degree
  • 8 years of federal contracting/ acquisition experience conducting a wide range of acquisition lifecycle activities, including: acquisition planning, contract awarding and closeout activities, source selection, managing solicitations for Firm-fixed-price and Time and Material contracts, cost and price analysis and negotiation experience
  • Former Contraction Officer experience required
  • Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) guidelines and US Government contracting
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate and interact with senior level management and clients

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Secret Clearance or higher
  • 10 years experience in federal contracting/acquisitions
  • Experience in business process improvement and modernization of acquisition processes at a large federal agency
  • Comfort working at client offices and participating in internal corporate quality assurance processes
  • Familiarity with ISO 9000.1 processes
  • Cost plus and cost reimbursement experience
