JOB TITLE: Configuration Manager/Technical Writer, Junior

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

WBB is seeking a Junior level configuration manager and technical writer to support the Integrated Base Defense Security System (IBD-SS). This is a full-time position, located in Huntsville, AL.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate with the customer on complex or voluminous documentation and may additionally provide or coordinate special documentation services as required
  • Collect, analyze, and organize design specifications for hardware and related software and license configurations as implemented and approved by the PdM FPS customer representative
  • Be responsible for the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documents including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation
  • Evaluate, update, and maintain PdM FPS product configuration documentation and architecture libraries, and processes necessary for management support, as well as reporting of systems and networks
  • Write and edit technical documentation for all of the projectís hardware and software to include installation, configuration and how-to documentation
  • Define and document requirements to update configuration data management processes and procedures for use throughout the PdM FPS program
  • Work with government-designated configuration management specialists to monitor and control change review processes
  • Participate in design reviews, functional and physical audits, and technical interchange meetings to identify changes to established configuration baselines proactively and identify potential areas of impact to requirements documentation (specifications, designs, interface control documents), and associated configuration items
  • Work closely with other systems engineers to develop and review documents for Business Processes, Requirements Analysis, Configuration Management, Technical Risk, and Engineering Change Reports in accordance with customer specifications
  • Participate in CCB meetings and offers configuration management subject matter expertise to PdM FPS stakeholders
  • Is responsible for the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documents including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation
  • Works independently preparing and maintaining highly complex systems, programming and operations documentation, procedures and methods
  • Works with complex or voluminous documentation and may provide or coordinate special documentation services as required

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Security Clearance: Secret

  • Ability to attain and maintain a US Secret security clearance
  • AA/AS + 3-5 yrs. experience (6 years exp. in lieu of a degree)
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices involved in technical research, writing, and editing

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of and ability to use various word-processing and desktop publishing software applications
  • Knowledge of IBDSS systems and PM CCS products and services, customer requirements, purpose and structure of required documentation, and end userís level of understanding
  • Effective communications skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Relevant and related military/government experience with technical documentation is desired
