JOB TITLE: Access Database Developer

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

Decisive Analytics, a WBB Company has a contract supporting Mission Engineering: Evolving Acquisition to support the warfighter.

The Junior Database Developer be working to catalog, track, and model cutting edge DoD technologies, systems, equipment, and capabilities to enabling models and simulations of performance characteristics. Efforts will include design of aesthetic and easy to use dashboard displays, input screens, and output presentations to enable senior DoD engineering and leadership staff to quickly arrive at technical solutions.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and manage Access database of military system capabilities and characteristics for use in military utility studies
  • Develop and manage SharePoint site of tasks, data sources, mission scenario definitions, study plans, and study reports
  • Integrate SharePoint dashboards and project displays to relevant database elements, study materials, timelines, status and assignees
  • Administer user access controls to the cloud and databases
  • Responsible for the performance, integrity and security of the databases
  • Plan, develop and troubleshoot databases; write patches based on user feedback in a timely manner
  • Upgrade and improve application schema and data
  • Recommend system improvements: speed, ease of use, integration, aesthetics
  • Collate, prepare and present statistical information on metrics collected regarding use for internal and external use
  • Design user input forms and user requested reports
  • Author VB scripts to integrate MS Access databases to MS PowerPoint and MS Word

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Security Clearance: Secret

  • Secret clearance with TS eligibility
  • Bachelorís degree in computer science or a related information technology field
  • Thorough understanding of Access database design, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Experience in integration between MS products Access, SharePoint, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Prior experience designing and implementing business processes into functional and efficient code
  • Understanding of data and schema standards and concepts
  • Ability and willingness to learn new programming and data skills

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in VBA macros and graphing formulas in Excel, Tableau, or MS BI software
  • Experience writing scripts in LUA
