JOB TITLE: Senior Operations Research Analyst

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

In this position you will provide Operations Analysis support to a variety of projects as part of WBBís highly qualified interdisciplinary team of consultants. The you will interface with customers on a regular basis to develop project requirements, collaborate and work on integrated teams, and to brief, defend, and support project results. You will perform mission engineering, analysis, and integration expertise to produce objective insights and analytic justification to inform future technology and capability investment decisions. It will require the prioritization, alignment and validation of requirements within Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) to deliver modernized capabilities that enable an all domain joint force aligned with future Joint Warfighting Concepts. Must be comfortable in a challenging, collaborative, multi-tasking, dynamic, high-tempo, deadline-intensive environment with a flexible work schedule supporting multiple customers. You will work in close collaboration with senior government and commercial customers providing consultation, recommendations and support. You must also have excellent listening as well as oral and written communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with customers and colleagues.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyzing system solutions to complex and challenging DoD problems
  • Defining operational problems within the fighting forces and using statistical analysis, simulations, predictive modeling, or other methods to analyze it and develop practical solutions
  • Lead study design and execution (potentially in collaboration with FFRDC, government or other contractor team members), while simultaneously demonstrating an innovative ability to modify/adapt techniques to fit situations and problems of interestDesigning, developing, and adapting mathematical, statistical, econometric, and other scientific methods and techniques to provide advice and insight about the probable effects of alternative courses of action
  • Conducting campaign level analyses. Digitally modeling and executing simulations to analyze end-to-end weapon system fire control chains, sensor and communication networks, weapons effects, and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance system support
  • Analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of DoD projects or programs in their ability to meet the established goals and objectives of the National Defense Strategy; including, but not limited to, military utility assessments of new/proposed weapon systems and their concepts of employment
  • Collaborating and engaging with senior managers/decision makers to elicit, frame and solve problems
  • Supporting the development of kill chain models of Joint/coalition or adversary systems and perform analysis
  • Conducting net technical assessments to examine warfighter requirements, conduct mission and technical assessments, prioritize technology investment recommendations and support the development of risk assessments across multiple domains, warfare areas and timeframes
  • Developing and executing analysis and study plans that address complex problems, examine trade-offs and sensitivities, and produce data and information rich products and artifacts

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Security Clearance: Top Secret/SCI

  • Top Secret SCI eligible
  • Masterís Degree in Operations Research, Math, Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience conducting analytics using R, Python, SAS, JMP, or similar
  • Ability to apply advanced quantitative-grounded application techniques (e.g., probability and statistics, optimization, etc.) to solve complex problems
