JOB TITLE: Interoperability Engineer (Network) - GH

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The project provides support services for the Army Futures Command (AFC) Headquarters and subordinate/direct reporting units in the planning and management of the full range of operations activities for mission execution.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the government to perform engineering program execution functions to include the development, test and modification assessments of Directorate program systems (to include Air Vehicle, Ground Segment, payloads, and associated support equipment)
  • Monitor interoperability in the areas of Network Engineering, Communications Engineering, Sensor Engineering, ISR Enterprise Engineering and Systems Architecture Engineering
  • Knowledge of SATCOM and LOS RF communications systems, modems, encryption techniques, and basic Sensor operation of EO/IR/SAR/SIGINT design principles to ensure operability requirements are met for providing the required ISR Enterprise data exchange
  • Knowledge of Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems including: PRISM, Air Force Distribution Ground System (AFDCGS), DCGS-A, DCGS-MC, ETP, and Goshawk networking to ensure operability requirements are met for providing the required ISR Enterprise data exchange
  • Planning and implementing integrated product and process development using the current acquisition strategy to provide incremental capability deliveries to the war fighter related to flight and mission critical Airborne Sense and Avoid (ASAA) Systems, associated Communications, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) Systems, and Air Traffic Management (ATM) Systems
  • Review and monitor the Integrated Functional Capabilities plan to ensure air vehicle, payload, mission planning and mission support is compatible with existing and emerging system architectures, including external userís requirements
  • Support test/evaluate and recommend corrective actions for operational deployment lessons learned, deficiencies, and opportunities
  • Interface with external agencies in support of interoperability development and testing efforts
  • Support Global Hawk system security certification and accreditation activities
  • Perform technical studies to include, but not limited to, performance, effectiveness, cost performance, life-cycle cost, reliability, maintainability, and supportability
  • Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation plans

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Security Clearance: Top Secret/SCI

  • Must possess an active Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • Masterís degree
    • Eight (8) years of additional work experience may be substituted for a Masterís degree; OR,
    • Four (4) years of additional work experience plus a Bachelorís degree may be substituted for a Masterís degree
  • Ten (10) yearsí experience in functional area

Five (5) years of any Seniorís experience must have been performed on DoD programs/projects

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate degree in related field
  • Experience with remotely piloted air vehicles
  • Experience with UAV ground control systems & UAV communications systems
  • Major Defense Acquisition Program experience
  • Air Force program office experience
  • Experience in the application of Risk Management Framework to Air force Platform Information systems

WORK LOCATION: Dayton, OH
