JOB TITLE: Defense Travel Administrator

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

"This position is contingent upon contract award"

The project provides support services for the Army Futures Command (AFC) Headquarters and subordinate/direct reporting units in the planning and management of the full range of operations activities for mission execution.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support organizational use of the Defense Travel System (DTS) in the preparation of travel requests and vouchers
  • Provide service desk support with the goal of first contact resolution, including technical support issues travelers are experiencing within the DTS program; respond to and resolve application and functional user issues on DTS; monitor and continue to work on the customerís service request or incident and follow up with the customer until resolution
  • Monitor and track authorizations and vouchers to ensure seamless processing and prevent potential interruptions to travel
  • Monitor, track and correct rejected authorizations and vouchers
  • Perform one or more of the following functions: Travel Clerk, Reviewing Official and Defense Travel Administrator
  • Assist with mandatory training requirements per DTS and Government Travel Charge Card regulations

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Security Clearance: Secret

  • Active SECRET Clearance
  • Subject matter expertise for regulations and policies related to making travel arrangements within an Army command, including high level understanding of the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR)
  • Familiarity with Defense Travel System

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree, minimum Five (5) years of direct experience
  • Experience working in Army or other DOD service headquarters business operations and management processes
  • Excellent initiative and communications skills Ė thrive in a team environment
