JOB TITLE: Program Manager- AHFRM


This position supports the Electronic Warfare and Avionics (EW&A) Division with day to day management of the Airborne High Frequency Radio Modernization (AHFRM) Program in support of the Air Forceís (AFís) and other Serviceís Airborne HF radio upgrades by employing acquisition program analysis in the areas of acquisition strategy, rapid acquisition authorities, milestone preparation, documentation, program planning and control, schedule development, test plans, configuration management, risk management, contract changes, financial management, production and manufacturing, quality assurance, and product support.


Responsible for providing acquisition management support services to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of acquisition services in support of the customerís mission. Services include the following:

  • Evaluate program and mission requirements, and integrate these activities with other program and functional elements within the program office and outside organizations
  • Implement plans by preparing and reviewing program documents, including acquisition strategies, development and production schedules, engineering change proposals, sustainment strategies, and design studies
  • Perform contractor-designated activities for assigned projects and identify problem areas for further study and evaluation
  • Providing higher level management with status and decision information on assigned programs/projects


Security Clearance: Secret

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Bachelors Degree or certain experience will be considered in lieu of degree, and/or Level I DAWIA Certification
  • Level I DAWIA Certification (Acquisition Program Manager)
  • Participation in development, coordination, and execution of major program milestones (preferably ACAT 1 but ACAT II or III is acceptable)
  • 10 years acquisition or sustainment experience
  • Experience with defense acquisition management processes as contained in the DoD 5000 series directives as well as rapid acquisition authorities and techniques
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal

Expert knowledge of DoD acquisition program management


  • Current TS/SCI
  • Masters Degree
  • Level III DAWIA Certification (Acquisition Program Manager)
  • 15 years related acquisition experience, including 4 yearsí experience supporting a weapon system Program Office within an AFLCMC (or predecessor) Center, AFSPC SMC product center, or similar US Army / US Navy Program Office
  • Experience with Electronic Warfare, GPS or avionics systems, electronics, and/or software and/or aircraft systems
