JOB TITLE: Military Readiness Analyst

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

Provide support to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Force Readiness (DASD(R)) in advising DoD leadership on key military readiness issues. Provide assessment of military readiness issues with the objective of ensuring ready and responsive military forces.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide technical and administrative support for the assessment and analysis of the full range of readiness within DoD. Specific tasks:

• Investigates and analyzes readiness problems (whether they are associated with force structure, manpower, equipment, budgets, infrastructure or systems) and provides advice and insight about the probable effects of alternative solutions to these problems
• Analyzes programs whereby manpower, materiel and training resources are allocated to the total force, Combatant Commands, and programs, evaluating the capability of these programs to accomplish assigned missions in keeping with senior leadership goals and requirements
• Supports communicating the status of readiness throughout the DoD and to Congress in the form of analytic briefs, narratives, and reports
• Analyze broad, complex, policy, strategy, program or procedural issues utilizing quantifiable criteria with a view toward quantifying the implications in relation to functional areas and department readiness in general

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Security Clearance: Secret

• Active Secret Clearance
• Bachelor's Degree in Science, Business, or Research Methods OR a Bachelor's Degree with equivalent analytical experience
• Five years of experience performing project management, including planning, project timelines, and scheduling
• Strong writing skills and attention to detail when preparing presentations, reports, and documents
• Ability to present numerical data effectively and read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental instructions

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with the Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS)
• Data analytic skills using Excel, SQL and/or COGNOS
• Prior experience working within the Office of Secretary of Defense

WORK LOCATION: Arlington, VA
