Provide manpower operations planning support for operational requirements. Serve as an advisor to 3d MAW and develop written recommendations and analysis for specific manpower issues. The technical monitor for this task is the 3d MAW Director of Manpower (G-1)


  • Provide operations and exercise sourcing support for Global Force Management Program, Joint Manning Document, Joint and/or Individual Augmentation, Fleet Assistance program, and internal augments at the executive level
  • Advise by providing recommendations on restructuring, reorienting, and/or recasting objectives, plans, and schedules to meet substantial changes in legislation and program authority, changes in organizational structure, and automated processes and method improvements
  • Provide recommendations on evaluation of interrelationships and interactions among various executive level commands and agencies affecting 3rd MAW Manpower Operations and interpretation of relevant regulations, policies, and guidelines
  • Advise 3rd MAW leadership at working groups, conferences, and meetings and provide subject matter expertise on issues related to the provision of manpower to support individual, joint, and/or force augmentation.
  • Assist staff in management of relevant tasks related to manpower operations and time sensitive priorities of a general/flag-level command, to include Fleet Assistance Program (FAP) requirements
  • Provide subject matter expertise on manning requirements during operational planning processes
  • Document MANPOWER meeting minutes for all meetings held
  • Assist in analyzing taskers directing support of the GFMP and global joint operations and exercises and recommend courses of action for the identification, tasking, sourcing, processing, and tracking of 3rd MAW Marines, Sailors, and civilians that deploy in support of current GFMP requirements
  • Provide input to all internal 3rd MAW Manpower Operations policies and programs, and any applicable policy and procedures promulgated by higher authorities
  • Support organizational analyses and research projects and provide advisory services on issues of substantial scope and impact to 3rd MAW
  • Develop and utilize databases, queries, and spreadsheets to develop briefs and presentations to 3rd MAW and subordinate units, as well as higher and adjacent commands, regarding manpower support to operational requirements
  • Assist with validation of manpower requirements, reclaim data, and operational administration support
  • Support overall mission requirements by employing Microsoft Office software to meet support requirements


Security Clearance: Secret

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Secret Clearance or higher
  • No less than two years of experience in Manpower Operations and Global Force Management and Force Generation
  • Bachelors Degree (6 years' additional work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree. Associate's Degree plus four (4) additional years' experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree)


  • Executive level or general/flag staff experience
  • Detailed and functional knowledge of the Marine Corps and Joint/Combined Planning Process and Marine Corps and joint doctrine (aviation and manpower operations preferred)
  • Thorough knowledge of Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS), Total Force Management System (TFSMS), Marine Corps Total Force System (MCTFS) database, and Joint Travel Regulations (JTR)
  • Experience in operational planning activities; deployment/employment planning and refinement for sourcing contingency operations is preferred
  • Experience in interacting with a wide variety of audiences at the executive-level and higher (senior military officers; commanders and deputy commanders; chiefs of staff; Sergeants Major at the GO/FO levels; military installation support personnel; other high ranking officials
