JOB TITLE: Senior Systems Engineer – NC3

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with extensive Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) subject matter expertise. This is a high visibility position which requires excellent technical, interpersonal, and communications skills.

The selected candidate will provide technical support and subject matter expertise to the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Developmental Test & Evaluation (OUSD(DT&E)) in the areas of mission engineering, systems engineering, and detailed technical analysis of on-going and proposed changes to the NC3 Enterprise. This position is based in Alexandria, VA.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work independently to provide NC3 Enterprise and NC3 systems expertise to OUSD(DT&E) leadership
• Build proactive relationships among OUSD(DT&E)’s internal NC3 stakeholders
• Build proactive relationships between OUSD(DT&E) and external NC3 stakeholders across DoD
• Perform engineering studies and analysis associated with the NC3 Next Gen vision, and oversight of specifications and standards that will be applied across the portfolio of programs
• Engage with key NC3 C4ISR, space, and aircraft modernization programs to ensure they practice state of the art engineering principles, and to conduct independent technical risk assessments as they progress through the acquisition cycle
• Build proactive relationships between OUSD(R&E) and external NC3 stakeholders across DoD
• Provide technical analysis and technical leadership to assist OUSD(DT&E) in prioritizing NC3-related technology development
• Coordinate tasks and participate in technical meetings with internal and external NC3 partners

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Security Clearance: Top Secret/SCI

• Active TS/SCI
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Science
• Significant, relevant work experience in Systems Engineering
• NC3 Subject Matter Expertise

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree in Engineering/Science
