JOB TITLE: Operations Analyst – Training and Education - I MEF G-3

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

"This position is contingent upon contract award"

This task order focuses on operational planning services in support of the I MEF G-3 Operations and G-5 Plans divisions. Operational planning support includes, but it is not limited to, strategic, operational, amphibious, and Joint/Combined Training and Joint Exercise Event Life Cycle (JELC) planning and assessment support.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As an Operations Analyst:

  • Provide recommendations on (a) effectiveness and improvements for force readiness, and (b) I MEF and USMC training and education programs in support of global operations and deployments
  • Prepares training/education program analysis reports as requested, which may include delivering reports for (a) capability and training gap analysis, (b) analyzing the readiness implications of identified gaps, and (c) providing recommendations for addressing identified gaps
  • Conduct training and education research and analysis, providing recommendations in accordance with TECOM Guidance which improve force readiness. Complete exercise assessments plans, Exercise/Event Plans of Action and Milestones, Exercise Support Briefs, Exercise Support Observation Reports/Recommendations as required, and Exercise After Action Reviews
  • Analyze formal school-curriculum gaps, providing recommendations for formal school course expansion, development, and enhancement
  • Conduct detailed and ongoing analysis of training and education requirements to include studies of (a) Marine Corps orders, policies, (b) training/education guidance, and (c) training/education related directives
  • Draft official correspondence related to training education and analysis
  • Draft and send information messages
  • Support the documentation of meetings
  • Document trips
  • Create draft of routine work products (typically administrative or informational products) as requested by the Government
  • Provide the I MEF Planners’ Huddle Products Direction and I MEF G-3 Huddle Products Direction

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Security Clearance: Secret

  • U.S. citizen
  • Secret Clearance
  • Bachelors Degree (BS/BA) [6 years' additional work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree. Associate's Degree plus four (4) additional years' experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree]
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in the Marine Corps serving at the MEF MAGTF level or other service equivalent (equivalency must be explicitly explained in resume)
  • Experience with the Marine Corps Planning Process or Military Decision-Making Process or other service equivalent (equivalency must be explicitly explained in resume)
  • Familiarity with military Training and Education programs
  • Experience with the following:

The Marine Corps Planning Process or Military Decision-Making Process or other service equivalent

Modeling & Simulation (M&S) or the LVC-TE

Marine Corps C4I systems or other service equivalent

  • Familiarity with the following:

Military Training and Education programs

Military simulations and training systems

DoD Simulation protocols and M&S programs

LVC-TE programs and acquisition or other service equivalent

WORK LOCATION: Camp Pendleton, CA

TRAVEL: 20%
