PROJECT OVERVIEW:

This task order focuses on operational planning services in support of the I MEF G-3 Operations and G-5 Plans divisions. Operational planning support includes, but it is not limited to, strategic, operational, amphibious, and Joint/Combined Training and Joint Exercise Event Life Cycle (JELC) planning and assessment support.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide SME support for Expeditionary Operations Cell tasks and the force generation and training of I MEF Marine Expeditionary Units (MEUs), SPMAGTFs, and PBTFs to include support for I MEF Campaign Plan and MAGTF Development Program development, and other planning efforts
  • Provide SME support for OPLANs and CONPLANs involving I MEF forces, and the same expertise in support of I MEF exercises/events conducted in concert with the U.S. Navy force elements, to include all issues pertaining to forming, equipping, and deploying MEUs, SPMAGTFs, and PBTFs
  • Deliver the Exercise Support Observation Reports/Recommendations, Exercise Support Briefs, and Exercise/Event Plans of Action and Milestones
  • Assist with the development of ongoing amphibious and expeditionary initiatives at the Service, MEF, and Major Subordinate Command/Element levels
  • Assist with and provide recommendations for Service level forums which determine amphibious and expeditionary policy and direction (e.g., MEU/Marine Expeditionary Brigade Operational Advisory Groups, Force Synchronization Conferences, and Operations Summits)
  • Assist with the coordination of MEU TSC and Special Operations Forces interoperability events, providing timely information about MEUs to I MEF senior leaders
  • Provide SME support to I MEF for management of the impacts of technical issues (e.g., ship casualties) with key I MEF personnel, and counterpart U.S. Navy staff members
  • Document trip reports
  • Create draft of routine work products (typically administrative or informational products) as requested by the Government
  • Draft TASKORDS and LOIs
  • Support the documentation of meetings
  • Draft and send information messages
  • Draft official correspondence related to Naval Integration and Expeditionary Operations Support
  • Provide the I MEF Plannersí Huddle Products Direction and I MEF G-3 Huddle Products Direction as required

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Security Clearance: Secret

  • US Citizen
  • Secret Clearance or higher
  • Bachelors Degree (BS/BA) [6 years' additional work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree. Associate's Degree plus four (4) additional years' experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree]
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in the Marine Corps serving at the MEF MAGTF, Fleet, MARFOR, or major subordinate command level or other service equivalent
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with the Marine Corps Planning Process or Military Decision Making Process or other service equivalent
  • Familiarity with Marine Corps Service-level concepts and doctrine and campaign plan design or other service equivalent
  • Experience with Naval Integration, Joint Operations/Expeditionary Operations (e.g., MEUs, SPMAGTFs, PBTFs)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop products, briefs, orders, policy at an executive level (e.g., three-star staff level or higher)
