Description

This is a Information and Knowledge Management Specialist Mid – Level position for the Department (Dept) of the Navy (DON) Chief Information Officer (CIO) support team. The office provides a wide range of technical, management, and administrative services to communicate, coordinate, integrate and align IT/Cyber initiatives throughout the Dept of Navy as well as the Dept of Defense. The support team will provide oversight and high level support in the areas of: IT Policy, Service Strategy, Budget, Administration, Personnel, Liaison, Knowledge Management (KM), Business Process Reengineering (BPR), Records Management (RM), Information Technology (IT), Cyberspace / Cybersecurity, Privacy, Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP), Telecommunications (TELCOMMS), Standards, Analysis and other governmental support as required.

Key Role:

Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Establish and maintain a KM collaboration site through which KM support and innovation can be shared across the DON.
  • Establish and maintain an ECM collaboration site through which ECM support and innovation can be shared by the members of ECM integrated product teams and working groups.
  • Provide direct assistance to DON and Joint commands. The assistance includes but is not limited to, providing KM and IS advice, collaboration, and presentations, leading retrospect and knowledge capture interviews, coordinating peer assists, and developing knowledge assets.
  • Conduct KM training and education courses at DON and Joint commands as required.

Qualifications 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ten (10) years of experience in organization-wide information and knowledge management strategies.
  • Experience in promoting communities of practice and coordinating taxonomy development, content development, and training materials.
  • Experience in conducting consultations, training, and presentations to various audiences while promoting and providing technical support for collaborative tools, including Communities of Interest, wikis, blogs, forums, and knowledge management tools.
  • BA/BS degree CS, IT, or Information Systems, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience

 Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with NNE

Clearance: Active Secret clearance required.
