JOB TITLE: Knowledge Management (KM) Adviser

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

This project requires management of the government customerís Knowledge Management Network (KMN). Contactor personnel work closely with KM staff to optimize the customerís KM sharing practices and web portal content to ensure users have constant access to accurate information. This project requires routine identification and recommended enhancements of the Knowledge Management Program be submitted to the government customerís Chief Knowledge Management Officer (CKO) for consideration and implementation.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the primary KM advisor to the government customerís staff and directorates for all KM activities to include: process Improvement, identifying knowledge gaps, and knowledge transfers using collaborative Web Based Knowledge Environments
  • Assist in the development, lead, and overseeing implementation of strategies to foster knowledge sharing within the customers knowledge domain
  • KM procedures to support senior, executive-level decision-making processes and collaboration activities
  • Serve as primary administrator for the government customerís SharePoint, Public internet/intranet website, and all internet-based social media sites
  • Review existing KM tools, systems, information, and data developed for the customer to grow expanded information utilization and tools for broadening Army Knowledge Online and Knowledge Network use
  • Conduct consistent, targeted community content analysis to determine if distributed material is being consumed and has knowledge management relevance
  • Provide weekly, Web Based Knowledge Environment enhancement recommendations to the customer following collaboration with on-site web engineers
  • Monitor the use of explicit and tacit information exchanges within the customerís KM environment and develop monthly Program Analysis and Trends reports
  • Collect and analyze feedback through targeted customer and KM tool users; provide a summary report with recommended solutions based on trends or common theme
  • Develop and provide KM briefings and classes to educate the customer or customer clients
  • Attend knowledge management meetings to collaborate with peers and assess the effectiveness of employed KM tools and programs

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Security Clearance: Secret

  • DoD issued Secret clearance
  • Knowledge Management Certified
  • Experience in administering knowledge management services and tools to high-volume users through a broad and diverse network. Experience using predictive SW metrics and quantitative analysis techniques to gauge software quality, schedule and readiness in support of data-based decision making

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • KMPro Knowledge Management Certification (www.kmpro.org)
  • At least 10 years of knowledge management and internet/intranet web design
  • Experience in developing/managing knowledge management systems/programes
  • Advanced experience with current KM technologies, including Web and Enterprise 2.0 concepts
  • Possess an understanding of the U.S. Army Air Defense Artillery (ADA) and Field Artillery (FA) organizational structure
