PROJECT OVERVIEW:

"This position is contingent upon contract award"

PMA-259 Air to Air Missiles program office at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland has a requirement for full-time on-site Senior Administrative Assistant support.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carries out recurring office procedures independently
  • Composes correspondence using proper formatting, proofing and distribution
  • Some understanding of technical matters related to Air-to-Air weapon systems is required
  • Coordinates travel arrangements for personnel
  • Experience with tracking paper and electronic files and databases is essential
  • Coordinates and tracks Program Managerís and officeís calendars
  • Coordinates with multiple IPTís
  • Uses greater judgement and initiative in handling a wider variety of situations and conflicts involving the clerical or administrative functions of the office
  • Performs varied duties such as: responds to routine telephone requests; refers calls and visitors to appropriate staff; controls mail and assures timely staff response; sends form letters; arranges for meeting rooms; maintains recurring internal reports, correspondence controls, and training plans; requisitions supplies

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Security Clearance: Secret

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Education: Associatesís degree from an accredited college or university. Two (2) years of additional experience (to that cited below) relating to administrative policies and procedures may be substituted for the Associateís degree
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of recent (within the last 5 years) work experience related to administrative policies and procedures
  • Experience must include Defense Travel System, US Navy message system and Naval Correspondence.
  • Knowledge of proper style, syntax and proofreading correspondence is required.
  • Strong communications skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience working within a DoD weapons systems acquisition program office, especially within NAVAIR
  • Knowledge of other NAVAIR databases and data tracking systems is desired
