JOB TITLE: C2 Systems Instructor (Fires)


MTSS provides Pre-Deployment Training to United States Marine Corps (USMC) operating forces within a Joint and combined environment to improve USMC warfighting skills.  Realistic computer-based simulation training; Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) training; Combined Arms Staff Trainer (CAST) training; MAGTF Tactical Warfare Simulation (MTWS) and; Deployable Virtual Training Environment (DVTE)  for individual Marines through senior Marine Corps commanders and their battle staffs is provided at multiple Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) sites.


Our Fires C2 Systems Instructor will serve as the subject matter expert for the lessons taught IAW the lesson plans and in the program of instruction. They will deliver instruction on the installation, configuration, operation, integration, and maintenance of military tactical Fires systems and software applications to include but not limited to AFATDS, EMT; JADOCS; TBMCS; StrikeLink; Precision Strike Suite, Special Operations Force (PSS-SOF); and future Fire systems and software applications.  Provides instruction on the installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of the following operating systems:  UNIX (Solaris) and Windows (NT/2000/XP/7/8) per supporting technical documentation.

Duties will include:

  • Maintains Fires systems and associated workstations by configuring and troubleshooting each system and respective workstation
  • Rebuilds military Fires systems for exercises and classroom instruction when required
  • Develops and validates instructional material on military Fires systems and applications
  • Maintains currency and provides instruction in service, joint, multi-national, and coalition position location reporting and fire support integration practices and procedures to support COP management and military operational planning and plans’ execution
  • Conducts COC battle drill demonstrations to Operating Force Marines
  • Will travel to conduct on-site instruction and technical assistance as required to include field training environments and will participate in mobile training teams
  • Participates in CCBs, meetings, and conferences as directed by the on-site government representative



  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Have attended a formal Fires systems operators and system administration course for their assigned Fires systems
  • Formal School Instructor Course or ISD course is required
  • Must have attended Officer/SNCO career level schools or equivalent
  • 4 + years of documented experience instructing and employing respective Fires systems to support MAGTF operations, including to support COC watch stander operations
  • Shall have knowledge of the products developed by the respective Fires systems to support the MCPP, systems use in plans’ execution for operations, and COC processes and procedures in operating the COC CAPSET III & IV
  • Direct participation in real world operations is required.
  • Capable of installing and configuring their respective C2 system software in a classroom environment and COC, and trouble shoot any classroom issues.
  • Certifications: Must be CompTia Sec+ and Network+ within 12 months.
  • Passport: Must have a valid U.S. passport within 120 days of assignment.
