JOB TITLE:  Acquisition Analyst Ė F35 JPO


Project provides support to the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter Joint Program Office (JPO) located in Crystal City (Arlington), VA. The JPO manages the development, test, production, fielding and sustainment of the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter for the USAF, USMC, USN, and International Partner and FMS customer nations worldwide.


  • Provide acquisition and program management expertise and support for the development, implementation, and life cycle management of F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO) business/acquisition strategies and policies, and maintenance of business processes, procedures and analysis tools
  • Responsible for all aspects of acquisition management support related to the development of the F-35 Air System across the lifecycle. Support will include:
  • Preparation, coordination and maintenance of acquisition documentation
  • Research and preparation of responses to Requests for Information (RFI) from various external stakeholders (e.g. DoD, Services, Congress, GAO)
  • Development and coordination of acquisition/program briefs (e.g. DAB, OIPT, etc.); analysis of requirements and resources, such as compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR) and DoD 5000 series
  • Support the management of F-35 JPO business/program processes such as POM issue development, issue/action item responses, and statutory and regulatory reporting (e.g. DAES, SAR, MAR)
  • Support process improvement activities
  • Support a variety of program governance/information/communication forums (e.g. SWG, CSB, JESB), audit support (e.g. GAO, DoDIG), and other venues and programmatic aspects as the F-35 Program evolves
  • Prepare documentation in response to and support of these activities (e.g. briefs, point papers, resource analyses).
  • Participate in meetings, inter- and intra-IPT integration and coordination, and travel in support of these activities


Security Clearance: Secret

  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Masterís degree from an accredited university in Business, Management or a degree relevant to the position. ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION:
  • Bachelorís degree from an accredited university and an additional four (4) years of experience can be substituted for an Masterís degree
  • Ten (10) yearsí experience in program management, technical, or business analysis discipline, in weapon systems acquisition and life cycle management; and
  • Six (6) years out of ten (10) years of recent work experience related to analysis and planning
  • Three (3) years in support of a Major Defense Acquisition Program (MDAP)
  • Familiarity with Service and OSD forms related to PPBS, Military Interdepartmental Procurement Requests, Work Requests, Requisitions, Contract Data Requirements List, and DD254 is required
  • Demonstrated experience in the program/project status, earned value management and schedules
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience dealing with DoD reporting tools and major reports
